Media Central: How to store, publish and manage your digital media content

Publish your digital video and audio media to OIT's Media Central Service for storage, management, and distribution.


Solution:
Media Central, OIT's media management system, is a central repository used to store, access, and manage digital media. Once media is uploaded to Media Central, customized metadata can be used to organize, tag, search, and manage content quickly and efficiently.

Media Central is also an excellent media tool for managing, converting and distributing video. You can convert media into various file formats for use on multiple platforms including: websites, iPad's, YouTube, Facebook, and Blackboard.

Media Central uses the open source Kaltura environment and can connect to systems such as Blackboard, Roxen, and Drupal. At this time at Princeton University, Roxen and Media Central can be integrated, allowing departments to embed their media into any Roxen website. For assistance with this integration please contact roxen@princeton.edu.
