Solution:
Use the following steps to create a Princeton Gmail account in Microsoft
Outlook
Pre-configuration settings for Princeton Gmail
First, enable IMAP on your Princeton Gmail account.
- Log in to your Princeton Gmail account

Click the Tools gear icon in the upper right-hand corner and choose Mail
settings.

Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Under IMAP Access, click Enable
IMAP and Save Changes.

If you receive the following error, please go back to step 3 and make sure
that you have enabled IMAP successfully.

E-mail configuration settings for Princeton Gmail in Microsoft Outlook

Start Outlook. If you have an account already present, Choose File
--> Add account.

The Auto Account Setup window will display. Click Manually configure
server settings or additional server types and click Next.

Choose Internet e-mail and click Next.

Enter:
Your Full Name
e-mail address as netID@Princeton.edu
Account Type is IMAP
Incoming Mail Server is imap.gmail.com
Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) is smtp.gmail.com
User Name is netID@Princeton.edu
Password is your Princeton password

Next, Click More Settings and click the Outgoing Server tab.
Check My Outgoing Server(SMTP) requires authentication and Use
the same settings as my incoming mail server.

Next, Click the Advanced Tab. The Incoming Server (IMAP) is port
993. Use the following type of encrypted connection is SSL.
The Outgoing Server (SMTP) is port 587. Use the following type of
encrypted connection is TLS.

- Click OK to save settings and click Next to Test Settings.
