Solution:

Princeton Gmail for students is accessible via all iOS devices. Please use the following instructions to configure your iOS device for access to your Princeton Gmail. The precise configuration steps may vary depending on the version of iOS you are running.


Google Mail Configuration
  • Open the Settings application on the device
  • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Select Add Account
  • Select Gmail
  • Enter the following information:

    • Name: Your Name
    • Email: netID@princeton.edu
    • Password: Princeton password
    • Description: Google Mail-Princeton
  • Tap Next
  • Choose the information you would like synced with your device:

  • Tap Save to create your account


Google Sync Configuration

These configuration settings are provided as an alternative for those who would like to take advantage of push based e-mail and synchronization of the Google Address Book with your device. Please note that this method utilizes Google Sync, which is a beta product. Be sure to review Google's support article outlining the limitations of using Google Sync.

  • Open the Settings application on the device
  • Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Select Add Account
  • Select Microsoft Exchange
  • Enter the following information:

  • Email: netid@princeton.edu
  • Leave the Domain field blank
  • Password: Princeton password
  • Description: Google Mail-Princeton
  • Tap Next
  • When the Server field appears, enter: m.google.com
  • Tap Next
  • Choose the information you would like synced with your device:

  • Tap Save to create your account
