Title:
Wireless: Trouble connecting to puwireless if puvisitor is a remembered network
Synopsis:
After registering my device in Host Database and receiving the confirmation "Success processing my request" email message, I am still unable to connect to PUwireless.

Solution:

If you have not removed PUvisitor from your list of remembered wireless network connections, you might be unable to connect to PUwireless.

If a device attempts to connect to OIT Wireless Service and fails because it is not eligible for that service, there will be a 2-minute delay (from the time it stops trying to connect to OIT Wireless Service) before the device will be able to connect. For this reason, you should make sure that your device is not configured to try to simply connect to "all wireless networks" that it sees. Similarly, if your device is configured to remember selected wireless networks it has connected to in the past, you should make sure that this list does NOT include the PUvisitor wireless network.

  1. Remove the PUvisitor connection from your remembered networks
  2. Restart your computer/device

*IMPORTANT*
Please make sure you have registered your mac/physical address correctly in the host database. See: How to Determine Your Device's Ethernet or Wireless Hardware Address for directions.
