Title:
Job opportunities for students and graduate students at OIT

Synopsis:
Information about student employment opportunities with OIT

Solution:
Job opportunities are available with OIT Residential Computing Consultants (RCCs), the OIT Tech Clinic, and Academic Services.

Residential Computing Consultants (RCCs)
In an effort to better serve the student body, the University has allocated funds for OIT to offer a Residential Computing Consultant (RCC) program. OIT has hired four students in each residential college to serve as computer consultants for any students in that college with computer questions or problems. OIT also has experienced upperclass and graduate student RCCs to help with computing needs and with particularly tricky problems.

Additional information about the RCC program can be found at the following: www.princeton.edu/rcc.

OIT will interview students in February and March of 2010 for RCC positions for the 2010-11 academic year. If you are interested in applying for a job, please send a cover letter and resume to oitstudentjobs@princeton.edu and complete the form located at: https://opm.princeton.edu/forms/StudentEmployment.html.

OIT Tech Clinic
The OIT Tech Clinic offers computer consulting services from software diagnostics to hardware support. The OIT Solutions Center (located on the 100 level in Frist) allows customers to bring their computers in and work with a consultant who will triage the problem and give you the tools and guidance to resolve the problem. All Princeton University community members are eligible to visit the Solutions Center and work with a consultant.

The OIT Tech Clinic hires student staff late in the Spring semester and again early in the Fall semester, with all new-hires beginning in the fall semester. We only run the training program once per year.

If you are interested in applying for a job at the OIT Tech Clinic, please send a cover letter and resume to scclinic@princeton.edu and complete the form located at the following url: https://opm.princeton.edu/forms/SCStudentEmployment.html

OIT Academic Services
Education and Outreach Services hires students interested in instructional technology for the STAT (Student Technologists And Trainers) program. STATs provide individual and small group software/technology training to Princeton faculty, academic staff, and students. No specific experience is required, but competency with at least one software package is preferred. Training will be provided for other applications. See www.princeton.edu/stat for details and online application.

University Student Employment
Many other University departments, programs, and organizations also offer jobs to students throughout the academic year and some during the summer. Student Employment info can be found at: http://www.princeton.edu/pr/aid/se.
