Synopsis:
If you wish to regularly send and/or receive faxes from your computer, you can sign up for a MyFax account. MyFax is a convenient Internet service that lets you send and receive faxes through your e-mail, and replaces the OIT Campus Fax Gateway as the recommended and supported process for faxing from your computer. On Thursday, January 31, 2008, the OIT Campus Fax Gateway service was discontinued.

Solution:
The University has created a corporate account with MyFax for faculty and staff so that billing can be centrally managed. University sponsored MyFax accounts are only available to faculty/staff with a valid departmental project grant. To request a MyFax account, please log in using your University netID and password to the following online form:

How to use MyFax:
MyFax requires no specific hardware or software. All you need is Internet access, an e-mail address, and a MyFax account.

To send a fax using MyFax, open a new e-mail message, address the e-mail to faxnumber@myfax.com (where faxnumber is the full number with area code, i.e. 8885551212). Attach the document you want to fax, and then send the e-mail.

For a monthly charge of $10.00 per month, the MyFax service includes the following:

• 100 page outbound/200 pages inbound per month (extra pages are $.10 each)
• Allows client-less faxing from any computer or wireless device using a standard e-mail client
• Allows both outbound and inbound faxing capability
