Title:
OnTime: Calendar and scheduling system questions for the University

Synopsis:
OnTime: Calendar and scheduling system questions for the University

Solution:
The current vendor of OnTime no longer supports the product in use at Princeton. OIT has therefore examined alternatives to OnTime. Since a large segment of the University community already uses Outlook Exchange, OIT is pleased to announce that Exchange e-mail and calendaring will be made available to all current University OnTime users. OIT is offering assistance in making the transition to Exchange for campus OnTime users.

There are no longer any users of this service. OnTime Calendaring will be shut down on Wednesday, December 6, 2006.

Information about Microsoft Exchange and the migration process is available from the OIT KnowledgeBase: www.princeton.edu/exchange . In brief, here’s the process:

  • You will be contacted for details of the migration for your department, to identify how many people will be included and to find a time after Commencement that is convenient for your migration.
  • Software Support staff will be in touch with each OnTime user to schedule individual appointments to move calendar and e-mail information to Exchange.
  • After the migration, OIT Help Desk and Software Support staff will be available to assist with questions.
  • Training on using Exchange will be available for those who wish it.
  • Though moving to Exchange for calendaring also means moving e-mail to the Exchange server, users will be able to continue to use their preferred e-mail application.
