Accounts: Resetting a forgotten or unknown OIT password
What do I do if I forget my password for an OIT account?


If you have forgotten your password after setting your PUaccess security profile, you can use the security questions to reset your password on your own in self service fashion. See Solution 9962 for instruction.

If you are locked out of PUaccess, or do not know your initial password for the activation of your new account, call the OIT Help Desk, 258-HELP(4357 option #1). A full time staff member will help you.

Once your password has been reset, you will need to go to the following website to set your enhanced security profile and select a secure password:

If a password for a departmental or administrative account is lost or forgotten, a password reset from the OIT Help Desk is necessary. For security purposes, the official sponsor on record for the account must authorize OIT to reset the accounts password. The official sponsor of record must also authorize OIT to reset a departmental or administrative account password for another user.

Once you have completed the form, the sponsor of the account or an authorized delegate noted on the form can call the OIT Help Desk to obtain a password reset.
