Accounts: Default quota, rates, and charges for the use of OIT provided accounts

Solution:
There are several different types of accounts that are provided by OIT. To request additional quota for any of these accounts, please go to the Account Quota Increase Form and click on the link "Purchase Additional Quota". Please note that 105x accounts are no longer valid for quota charges; further detail is provided on each quota request form. For information regarding the individual services, please select from the list below:

Current Quotas and Pricing

Exchange e-mail and calendaring services

  • Default quota: 1GB
  • Additional quota cost: 50 cents per 100MB per month
  • Quota increase timeframe: The quota increase form creates a ticket in the Accts-Quota OPM queue; these are addressed and processed within one business day. Once processed, the change is immediate.
  • Above 1GB, additional e-mail quota can be requested in 100MB increments, which be charged at 50 cents per 100 MB per month. The minimum charge for additional quota will be $1 per month. Be aware that the amount billed will be for the amount of quota allocated; not for the actual amount used. Quota can not be reduced below the amount actually in use.

IMAP e-mail service

  • Default quota:
    • Faculty/Staff: 1GB
    • Student: 1GB
  • Additional quota cost: 50 cents per 100 MB per month
  • Quota increase timeframe: The quota increase form creates a ticket in the Accts-Quota OPM queue; these are addressed and processed within one business day. Once processed, the change is immediate.
  • Above 1GB, additional e-mail quota can be requested in 100MB increments, which be charged at 50 cents per 100 MB per month. The minimum charge for additional quota will be $1 per month. Be aware that the amount billed will be for the amount of quota allocated; not for the actual amount used. Quota can not be reduced below the amount actually in use.

Central File Server - Individual (Unix/H:drive)

  • Default quota: 5GB
  • Additional quota cost: $0.50 per GB per month
  • Quota increase timeframe: The quota increase form creates a ticket in the Accts-Quota OPM queue; these are addressed and processed within one business day. Once processed, the change is effective within one hour.

Central File Server - Departmental

  • Default quota: 50GB
  • Additional quota cost: $0.50 per GB per month
  • Departmental quota is unlimited; OIT will bill automatically if quota goes over 50GB.

WebSpace

  • Individual default quota: 5GB
  • Departmental default quota: 50GB
  • At this time, there is no billing system in place for additional WebSpace quota. If you have an academic need for more quota, please contact the OIT Help Desk.

Windows Web Server

  • Default quota: 250MB
  • Quota increase timeframe: additional quota made available within one business day.
