What are the settings to read my Princeton e-mail?
Solution:
OIT provides and maintains two distinct e-mail services for Princeton users
-- Exchange e-mail and IMAP e-mail. Before beginning to use or manage an
e-mail account, it is important to identify which mail service you are using.
Don't know which e-mail you use? Call the Help Desk at 8-HELP(4357) option
#1.
Before you use your e-mail for the first time, you must
activate your account.
Configuration settings for OIT recommended e-mail applications can be found below. Authenticated SMTP is required for outgoing messages and SSL is required for incoming message; sending and receiving e-mail will not work unless the configuration settings are correct. If you are using an Internet Service Provider (ISP) other than Princeton, be advised your ISP will need to provide your outgoing SMTP server setting.

Traveling?
WebMail is available for both services and is highly recommended while you
are traveling. No client configurations are required and access requires
only a web browser. To begin, go to:

Which e-mail client should I use?
There are many options available to you on the market for e-mail, calendaring,
and browser applications. For a comparison, please see this
detailed comparison
chart of desktop applications organized by operating system. Those notated
in red are OIT recommended in order to obtain full support.
