Synopsis:
How to change a DeSC computer hostname

Solution:
This service is provided by OIT Software Support. Please send email to swsinc@princeton.edu with the following information:

• Subject Line: DeSC Machine Name change
• Current machine name =
• Requested Machine name =

Requests will be handled within 2 business days. The procedure for renaming the machine may require a reboot which will be done in the evening hours so as not to disturb the computer user.

SWS Staff will change the hostname, the machine (Windows) name, and the TSM node name.
