OIT Software Sales: Software information and availability on campus
Solution:
All faculty, staff and students should visit
www.princeton.edu/software to complete
all software purchases. The OIT Software Store is an enhanced online web store where faculty,
staff, and students are able to purchase licensed software packages for
departmental and personal use.
The web site also provides Open Source software built and configured
for Linux and Solaris to work well in the Princeton environment. Faculty,
staff, and students have the ability to log in to the site to view available
third-party software packages that have been built and configured to work
well in the Princeton University environment. They range from developer packages
such as gcc, python, and perl to user-oriented packages such as bzip, the
jpeg library, and pine. The Public Software Store also provides standard processes to register,
distribute, update and decommission packages.
- Eligible customers (faculty, staff and students) should log into the Software Store using their University netID and password
- All software offered by Software Sales is available through the Software Store
- Accepted payment forms: project grants (for institutional purchases), credit card, student account, check or cash
- Media (if purchased) can be picked up at Software Sales or, if a departmental purchase, may be delivered for a small fee
If you have any questions, please contact OIT's Software Store (113 Frist Campus Center) at ext. 8-9160.
