Solution:
Solution 5088 contains general
information about supported e-mail clients. Refer to the solution for a complete
list of supported clients. If you do not know if you are an IMAP or
Exchange-enabled user, please contact the OIT Help Desk at 8-HELP.
To configure an Exchange account in Entourage 2008
- Start Entourage 2008
- If the Entourage Setup Assistant window appears, close the window.
- From the Entourage menu, select Account Settings
- In the Accounts window, click the New icon.
- In the Account Setup Assistant window, click Configure account manually.

In the New Account window, choose Exchange from the drop-down menu and click
OK
- Choose Account Settings tab
- Enter Exchange in Account name
- Enter your name in Name field as you prefer it to appear on all outgoing e-mail. This name does not have to exactly match your full name from the GAL (Global Address List)
- Enter NetID@exchange.Princeton.EDU in the E-mail address field (the capitalization in Princeton.EDU is important)
- Enter your NetID in Account ID field
- Enter princeton in Domain field
- Enter your Princeton Domain password in the password field
- Enable Save password in my Mac OS keychain
- Enter owa.princeton.edu in Exchange server field
- Enable This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)
- Choose Advanced tab
- Enter owa.princeton.edu in Public folders server field
- Enable this DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)
- Enter pu.win.princeton.edu in LDAP server field
- Enable This server requires me to log on
- Click OK to close the Edit Account window
- Close the Accounts window
- From the Tools menu, choose Junk E-mail Protection. Set the level of junk e-mail protection to None.
- From the Entourage menu, choose Preferences. Select Compose from Mail & News Preferences and enable Automatically check names when sending messages. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
To configure an Exchange account in Entourage 2004 SP2
- Launch Entourage 2004 SP2
- If the Entourage Setup Assistant appears, close the window.
- From the Entourage menu, select Account Settings
- In Accounts window, choose Exchange tab and click New
- In the Account Setup Assistant window, click Configure account manually. The Edit Account window will appear.
- Choose Account Settings tab
- Enter any text in Account name to help you identify this account, such as: Exchange
- Enter your full name in Name field as you prefer it to appear on all outgoing e-mail. This name does not have to exactly match your full name from the GAL (Global Address List)

Note: To avoid possible data loss, install the Office 2004 11.2.1 update from www.microsoft.com/mac if you do not have Entourage 2004 version 11.2.1 or later.
