Host Database: How to complete the Department Number and Account Number fields
Solution:
There are no University network charges for all academic departments,
non-endowed
academic research units, and most administrative units. The University
provides
centralized funding for all Tigernet port and host ID costs.
For Exempt Departments:
Basic installation costs and the monthly charges are charged to central University accounts, not to academic departments, non-endowed research units, or administrative units.
- To complete the Department Number field, use this Department Number versus Department table.
- To complete the Account Number field use: 799-1XXX (where XXX is your department number)
For Non-Exempt Departments:
The University subsidy is not provided to endowed units, externally funded affiliates, and other similar units. To determine if you are in a department that is charged, please contact the OIT Help Desk.
- To complete the Department Number field, use this Department Number versus Department table.
- For these units, an actual department number is required in the Account Number field. See the Tigernet Rates web site for the current rate structure.
Departments and administrative units desiring additional network connections should request them from OIT.
