Solution:
The following solution is helpful in the following scenarios, for Exchange
e-mail users:
- You are going on vacation and wish to forward all your incoming e-mail to yourself at another address
- You wish to forward your e-mail to yourself at another address as well as send copies of your mail to an another user/address
- You wish to give an assistant or another user access to your incoming e-mail while on vacation or away temporarily
Faculty/Staff:
If you are leaving the University permanently and wish to have your e-mail
forwarded to a new address for a period of time before your account is
terminated, please see Solution 9879
for full instructions.
The following steps must be done using Microsoft Outlook; they cannot be accomplished in OWA. Please contact the OIT Help Desk for more information.
Instructions

From the Tools pull-down menu, select Rules and Alerts

Click New Rule...

Select the Start from Blank Rule option, and highlight Check messages
when they arrive option. Click Next.

Note! Click Next again without checking any boxes in this first box
of the wizard, and click Yes when prompted at the dialog box

For Step 1, under the Select action(s) section, check Forward it
to people or a distribution list
For Step 2, under the Edit the rule description box, click on forward it to people or distribution list

Specify the intended e-mail address in the To: field. To specify more
than one address, separate addresses by a semi-colon.

- Click OK
- Click Next
- If there are any exceptions to your forwarding rule, apply them here. Click Next.
- You can give your forwarding rule a "name" if you wish to remember it easily.
- Click Finish.
- Make sure the New rule is checked and click Apply.
- To remove the forwarding rule, from the Tools pull-down menu, select Rules and Alerts and uncheck your forwarding rule.
