Title:
SCORE/PeopleSoft: Clearing your browser's cache to fix error messages
Synopsis:
It has been reported that users are experiencing error messages while using SCORE/PeopleSoft.
It has been reported that users are experiencing error messages while using SCORE/PeopleSoft.
Solution:
If you receive the error message "You are not authorized to access this
component" or "incorrectly sized data structure," follow these steps:
- Log out of SCORE/PeopleSoft
- Clear your browser cache, using the instructions below.
- Exit all open browser applications.
- Open a new browser window and log into SCORE/PeopleSoft.
If this does not resolve the problem, call the OIT Help Desk at
8-4357(HELP).
Instructions to clear your browser cache:

- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options
- Select the General tab at the top of the window
- Under the Browsing History section, click the Delete button
- Within the "Delete Browsing History" dialog box, uncheck "Preserve Favorites website data"
- Under the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete files button
- Click Close, and then click OK to exit
- From the Tools menu, select Internet Options
- Choose the General tab at the top of the window
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete files
- Click OK to confirm the deletion
- Click
to exit
Mozilla Firefox 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0
- From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data
- Place a check in the box next to Cache clearing the check marks in any other boxes
- Click Clear Private Data Now
- From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History
- Change the Time range to clear to Everything
- Place a check in the box next to Cache clearing the check marks in any other boxes
- Click Clear Now
- From the Safari menu, choose Reset Safari
- Place a check next to Empty the cache clearing the check marks in any other boxes
- Click Reset

On a PC:
- From the Edit menu, choose Reset Safari
- Place a check next to Empty the cache clearing the check marks in any other boxes
- Click Reset
- From the Safari menu, choose Empty Cache
- Click Empty
- On a PC:
- From the Edit menu, choose Empty Cache
- Click Empty
- From the Safari menu, choose Preferences
- Click on the Advanced tab
- Checkmark the box for Show Develop menu in menu bar.
- Close the Preferences window for Safari
- Click Develop in the menu bar.
- From the dropdown select Empty Caches.
Safari for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
- Select Settings
- Select Safari
- Select Clear Cache
- When prompted to confirm that you want to clear the cache, select Clear

From the Chrome menu
on the browser toolbar, select Tools
- Select Clear browsing data
- In the dialog that appears, select "the beginning of time" from the drop down box for "Obliterate the following items from: and ensure the box for Empty the cache is checked. You may optionally check or clear the remaining check boxes in the dialogue box.
- Click the Clear browsing data button.
