Synopsis:
PUaccess: What if I have forgotten my password after setting my ESP?

Solution:

Follow these step-by-step instructions to retrieve your password by answering your security questions.

1. Open your web browser and go to: www.princeton.edu/puaccess

2. Enter your University netID to proceed, then click the Continue button. If you do not know your netID, search the Online Directory by clicking on the What is my NetID? link.

3. Click on "Forgot your password?"
Underneath your personalized Access Pad, click on the Forgot your password? link.

4. Answer your three security questions.
You will need to answer each of the security questions and click on the Enter button within the Access Pad each time. Answering the three security questions will help to verify your identity so that you will be allowed to reset your password. You must answer all three questions correctly before your password can be reset. You will be allowed five tries to answer each of your security questions correctly. After five unsuccessful attempts to answer the security questions, your account will be locked. Locked accounts must be reset by the OIT Help Desk.

5. Set a new password.
Your new password must meet current password requirements. See these password tips for choosing a password that is both safe and easy to remember.

6. Log in again.
Once completed, you will have changed your password successfully. Click on the here link to begin the login process from the beginning.
