Printing: Cluster and library print quota information
Solution:
OIT has implemented a print quota system on all Library and OIT Cluster
printers.
How many sheets can I print?
Undergraduate students are allotted 2100 sheets per year. Graduate
students are allotted 3000 sheets per year. Faculty and Staff are
not subject to a print quota at this time. A sheet is defined as an actual
piece of paper. This means that if if you print double-sided, you can not
only save paper but make the most of your allotted quota.
How can I check how many sheets I have
printed?
You can check how many sheets you have printed against your quota by visiting
printquota.princeton.edu. Click
on Log in and enter your Princeton netID and password. Upon logging
in you will see the number of sheets you have printed this year. You will
also see the number of sheets you have printed and your remaining quota when
logging into any of the Print Release Stations at OIT or Library clusters.
When does my print total reset?
Print count will be reset on an annual basis. For 2009-2010, sheets will
be counted from October 15th. For every subsequent year, the print count
will start over on July 1st.
What happens when I go over my print
quota?
When you go over your print quota, you will be unable to login to any of
the OIT print release stations. You will receive an error message stating
that you are over quota. This error message will also tell you how many sheets
you have printed against your quota during the current year.
What printers count against my print
quota?
Printing to any OIT cluster printer or Library cluster printer will count
against your print quota. Print jobs are counted against your quota once
they have been released to a printer using the Print Release Stations found
in OIT and Library cluster locations. You can find a full list of OIT cluster
printers here: OIT Cluster
Printers
Can I request additional sheets?
If you have exceeded your allotted print quota, you can request that your
account be allocated additional sheets to finish any additional printing
you may need to complete. To request that additional print quota you will
need to contact the OIT Help Desk by calling 609-258-4357 or e-mail
printquota@princeton.edu. All
print quota increase requests will be reviewed by OIT staff before they are
granted.
