A necessary campus-wide network outage has been scheduled for Saturday, October 29, from 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The outage is required so that OIT can replace a core component of the network infrastructure.
OIT is working to keep most University computing services available for people off-campus during the scheduled work. The University core website, IMAP e-mail, and Exchange e-mail and calendaring will all be available.
For people on-campus, all network services will be unavailable. This includes e-mail, web pages, and any other computing activity conducted over the Internet. OIT will make every effort to minimize the length of the outage and certain resources may become available sooner than 11:00 a.m.
Throughout the outage, www.princeton.edu/oit will be updated with information about the status of service availability, and will be viewable from off-campus. The OIT Help Desk (258-4357 (8-HELP) will be open throughout the outage to answer any questions you may have.
