OIT moves to 701 Carnegie Center in November

OIT is pleased to announce that in November, many OIT departments will move to their new home at 701 Carnegie Center. Staff moves begin on Monday, November 2. The new facility enables OIT to consolidate many of its operations at one location, and allows portions of other buildings used by OIT to be repurposed for the University's planned arts and transit neighborhood. The Office of Finance and Treasury will join OIT in the new building.

Beginning in mid-November, OIT will being hosting training classes at this new location. The West Line of TigerTransit will provide service to and from 701 Carnegie, with one-stop service every 20 minutes from 701 Carnegie Center to campus at the Dinky Station, with connections to other TigerTransit routes. TigerTransit schedules and TigerTracker (GPS locator) are available online. The shuttle buses will accommodate 33 people; have bike racks and low-rise entry/exits.

The current OIT move schedule is as follows:

  • Administration & Finance - week of Nov. 2
  • Project & Consulting Services - week of Nov. 2
  • Enterprise Infrastructure Services - week of Nov. 2
  • Administrative Information Services - week of Nov. 16
  • Support Services -- weeks of Nov. 16, Nov. 23
  • Support & Operations Center - Jan. 2010 (tentative move date)

PUaccess: Online security profile required for eBenefits Open Enrollment
The University strives to provide the most secure computing environment possible and to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information. As part of this effort, a new bank-like login procedure has been implemented to protect your personal information and Princeton's confidential data.

The new system, known as PUaccess, is now available. Users who log in to Benefits Open Enrollment, HR Self Service applications, PeopleSoft human resources and student records applications, or SCORE are able to create an enhanced security profile consisting of a new password, a personal image/phrase, and three security questions and answers. After creating your profile, whenever you log in to these systems, you will see your personal image and phrase, to assure that you have reached a valid Princeton site. The security questions will be used when you access protected systems from different locations and will allow you to reset a forgotten password without calling the OIT Help Desk.

More information is provided from the PUaccess page; then click on the Help link.

If you have questions, contact the OIT Help Desk, 609-258-HELP(4357); helpdesk@princeton.edu; or online chat from the OIT home page www.princeton.edu/oit.
